01 / ACCEPTANCE OF TERMS
By downloading, installing, or using time.md ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the App.
The App is provided by Isolated Tech ("we", "us", "our").
02 / DESCRIPTION OF SERVICE
time.md is a macOS application that provides local screen time analytics. The App reads data from your Mac's built-in Screen Time database and presents it through dashboards, charts, heatmaps, and exportable reports.
The App processes screen time data locally on your machine. It can show onboarding before entitlement, then requires an internet connection for card-backed 14-day trial setup/verification and for initial paid license activation. It may periodically reverify saved trial/license status. It does not require an app account or subscription. Stripe Checkout is used for trial card setup and one-time desktop license purchases; Cloudflare Email Service delivers activation-key emails.
03 / LICENSE
Subject to your compliance with these Terms, you may use the App during one card-backed 14-day free trial per device. A completed purchase grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to download and use the time.md macOS desktop application on devices that you own or control. Your activation key is proof of your paid license.
time.md source code may be separately available under its repository license. These Terms govern use of the website, purchase portal, and distributed desktop builds obtained through this site.
You may not:
- Share, resell, rent, lease, lend, or sublicense activation keys, trial tokens, or paid download access
- Remove license notices from distributed builds
- Use the App for any unlawful purpose
04 / PURCHASES & PAYMENT
time.md includes a 14-day trial that requires Stripe Checkout card setup. The paid desktop license is sold as a one-time purchase for $19.99 USD unless otherwise stated at checkout. Payments are processed by Stripe Checkout. We do not directly store your full card number or payment credentials.
Stripe may collect payment details, billing details, tax information, and fraud-prevention signals according to Stripe's own terms and privacy policy. Trial setup requires a card through Stripe Checkout but does not charge your card at setup. The trial is not a subscription; to keep using the App after the trial, complete the one-time paid license checkout. After successful payment, the Cloudflare portal verifies the Stripe Checkout session, creates or retrieves an activation key, sends a license email through Cloudflare Email Service, and unlocks paid download access.
You are responsible for keeping your activation key private. For purchase issues, duplicate charges, license-email reissues, or refund requests, contact [email protected] with your Stripe receipt email or Checkout Session ID.
05 / DATA & PRIVACY
The App processes screen time data locally on your device. Stripe Checkout collects and stores card details for trial setup; time.md never receives full card numbers. The trial return page may open a timemd:// deep link containing only the Stripe Checkout session ID. Trial/license validation sends only a trial token or activation key, app version, and a random device ID used for entitlement validation. The purchase portal stores trial, order, activation-key, device-hash, and email-delivery records needed to fulfill and support your trial/license. For full details, see our Privacy Policy.
You are solely responsible for the data stored on your device and any exports you generate from the App.
06 / SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS
The App requires:
- macOS with Screen Time enabled
- Permission to access Screen Time data
- Sufficient disk space for local database storage
We do not guarantee compatibility with all macOS versions or hardware configurations. The App depends on Apple's Screen Time framework and local database formats, which may change with macOS updates.
07 / BACKGROUND AGENT
The App installs a macOS Launch Agent that runs periodic background syncs (approximately every 4 hours) to capture screen time data. This agent:
- Runs locally with no screen-time data network activity
- Can be uninstalled by removing the App
- Requires no additional permissions beyond Screen Time access
08 / DISCLAIMER OF WARRANTIES
THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.
We do not warrant that:
- The App will be uninterrupted or error-free
- Screen time data will be perfectly accurate or complete
- The App will be compatible with future macOS versions
- Defects will be corrected
09 / LIMITATION OF LIABILITY
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL ISOLATED TECH BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, PROFITS, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES, RESULTING FROM:
- Your use of or inability to use the App
- Any data loss or corruption on your device
- Any unauthorized access to your local data
- Any other matter relating to the App
10 / TERMINATION
These Terms are effective until terminated. Your rights under these Terms will terminate automatically if you fail to comply with any of its provisions. Upon termination, you must cease all use of the App and delete all copies.
You may terminate these Terms at any time by uninstalling the App and deleting all associated data from your device.
11 / CHANGES TO TERMS
We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Updated Terms will be posted on this page with a revised effective date. Your continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
12 / GOVERNING LAW
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States, without regard to conflict of law principles.
